Safe Tree Removals, Felling, Dismantling
We specialise in residential tree removals within confined areas where felling is too risky. We use safe, controlled methods to ensure the protection of any targets or obstacles near the tree such as telephone and power cables, walls, fencing, sheds, roads or neighbouring buildings. We always climb with a rope and harness dismantling the tree in sections and use the additional control measure of rigging equipment whenever necessary. Where there are no risks, felling may be considered as an option. Stumps can then be removed using our Stump-Grinding service (see below).
Tree Pruning: Cleaning, Thinning, Raising and Reducing the Crown
- Crown Cleaning - the removal of dead, dying, diseased or crossing branches in order to improve the appearance of the tree.
- Crown Thinning - careful pruning of a percentage of the crown in order to improve access to sunlight as an alternative to complete removal.
- Crown Raising - the removal of low hanging branches in order to provide clearance for pedestrians, vehicles or buildings.
- Crown Reduction - specialist pruning designed to reduce the size of a tree which has become too large for its location whilst retaining the natural form. This differs from topping which is considered bad practice as it results in weak regrowth which can snap and cause damages or injury and leaves the tree looking ugly. Topping can also lead to vigorous regrowth resulting in a taller tree or worse, can invite disease which results in the failure of the tree.

Supply of Firewood and woodchips
We can provide a one-off or regular delivery of wood for seasoning or fresh woodchips. Please enquire for availability.
Hedge Trimming and Height Reduction
Most evergreen formal hedges like to be trimmed two or three times a year, while they're actively growing. Conifer hedges such as leylandii need regular pruning or these fast-growers will soon outgrow their location.
(See our Trees and the Law page for guidance on High Hedges)
Tree Planting
We can help you to choose a Tree which is suitable for your available space and which meets your requirements whether it be for screening, to attract wildlife or simply to add beauty to your garden. We will plant the tree providing necessary protection and give appropriate after-care advice to ensure successful establishment.
Stump Grinding/Removal
We can remove Stumps in order for you to landscape, develop, replant or returf where a tree has been removed. We use the most modern and efficient machinery in order to prevent regrowth by grinding well below ground level.
Professional Tree Surveys including BS 5837, Tree Inspections and Reports
We carry out professional Tree Surveys which collect a range of objective information on any number of trees, a typical example would be the use of “British Standard 5837: Trees in Relation to Construction” on potential development sites, in order to integrate development.
Tree Inspections assess hazards and can confirm suspected defects via the use of detection tools such as Picus Tomography and Resistographs or by the use of Aerial Inspections using a rope and harness.
Tree Reports can be provided for the use of Mortgage Lenders and Purchasers prior to completion or for Trees which are implicated in third party damages or personal injury.
